Join us on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 for a free workshop.
12:30-1:30 Vermont Soy – tour of processing plant (directions)
1:30-2:30 – High Mowing Seeds – tour of seed plant (directions)
2:30-3:30 – UVM Field Trial – located at the HMS trial gardens (directions)
The Growing and Processing Soybeans in VT workshop includes three tours. The first tour starts with us here at Vermont Soy, looking at our processing facility and discussing the possibilities for purchasing locally grown soybeans. Next, the tour heads down the road to High Mowing Seeds, where Tom Stearns will give a tour of their Seed Mill and discuss the opportunities for its use for Vermont soybean and grain growers. Last stop is the HMS trial gardens where for the past three years, we've been partnering with the University of Vermont to conduct variety trials to find a food-grade soybean that is suitable for growers in Vermont. See this article for an overview of last year's trial.
