Even our bottles are recyclable and made locally!
When it came time to select our bottles, we evaluated every alternative to conventional soymilk packaging.
Aseptic cartons are the most common form of packaging for soymilk. However, these cartons, made up of paper, plastic, and aluminum, are not easily recycled - 90% end up in landfills or getting incinerated.
And so – in keeping with our vision of sustainability, a need to recycle, and a desire to keep it local - we chose to use 100% recyclable bottles from Shelburne Plastics, in Vermont. Always wanting to do more - we are looking into the possibility of using biodegradable bottles in the future, but the high costs, lack of waste management infrastructure, and limited availability make this option impractical at this time.
